Acrylic Plastering / Acrylic Rendering
Acrylic Plastering
Acrylic plastering or Acrylic Rendering is a quick drying and flexible alternative with a number of advantages to traditional cement plaster. Acrylic Rendering can be used on a sand and cement building with all correct primers. It consists of three different layers. One of the many benefits of Acrylic plastering is that it is flexible and there is less inclined to crack over time. Acrylic Rendering dry’s very quickly in comparison to traditional plaster allowing you to paint after a few days as opposed to several weeks.
Acrylic premixed renders have superior water resistance and strength which allows it to be used on a wider variety of surfaces than cement render, including concrete, cement blocks, and AAC concrete paneling.
Acrylic Render or Acrylic Plaster also allows for a variety of finishes that would not normally be available with a traditional cement plaster finish. From marbled design finishes to stone or clay like finishes, sky is the limit so this is a particularly attractive option for architects and their clients who want something unique. Acrylic renders take only 2 days to dry and cure—much faster than the 28 days for traditional render
Please check out this link on Wikipedia which gives some more detailed information about the possibilities of an Acrylic plaster or Acrylic Render finish
The first layer of acrylic plastering or Acrylic Rendering is a layer of mesh and base coat which forms a super strong background and prevents cracks. The second layer consists of another base coat which is straightened and keyed with a soft sponge. You can then choose one of many different colours and same is applied and rubbed up with a special float. This is a unique finish, and our team of plastering experts are highly skilled and trained in carrying this out.
